From Exclusion to Empowerment: Let's get Marginalized Girl Children Back to School in partnership with Milestone Agenda for Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative (MAFYEDI)

Over the years, girl child education has faced numerous challenges ranging from family bachttps://www.facebook.com/share/p/1MoX2DiZgn/kground, parents' source of livelihood, infrastructure, gender-based violence, early marriage and so on. As a result, millions are out of school, engaging in one act or the other, trying to survive on their path, especially in Kwara State. Over the weekend, we successfully launched our #GetHerBackToSchool project in two rural communities - Sentu and Asunlope in Ilorin East local government, Kwara State. Done in partnership with Milestone Agenda for Youth Empowerment & Devt Initiative, this initiative aims to empower out-of-school girl children in rural Nigerian communities, who have been denied access to education, to return to school and receive the quality education they deserve.

The launching of this project comes on the heels of the commemoration of the 2024 Global Action Week for Education (GAWE). As students across the country resumed school last week, many marginalized students in vulnerable communities, mostly girls, couldn't join their peers due to various barriers. To address this, we provided support by paying their school fees, distributing school bags and educational materials such as notebooks, pens, and pencils to the beneficiary students. Additionally, we engaged with their parents and community leaders on the significance of education and the need to prioritize sending their children to school. Together, let's bridge the educational gap and create a brighter future for these marginalized girls. Join us in making a difference in their lives through education.
